The AIR 9 RDO, stands for Race Day Optimized , thus making this Niner model optimized to be as feather light as possible, it has been trimmed down to racing weight and is Lean Green, and mean. The new rig is 226 grams, lighter than last years version, thanks to reduced diameters of the top and down tubes, and an optimized carbon layup process. Additionally they were wise, to change out their CYA setup as well. Being swapped for a lighter, carbon Press Fit 30 BB. The rear disc brake mount is tucked inside the curving stays to distribute twisting forces evenly, permitting smaller caliper mounts and decreased wall thicknesses.  Even the mtb headset races for the headtube are molded from carbon.  They tried literally to make this 29er mtb frame come alive, with quicker acceleration and awesome singletrack  handling.
