2013 Rocky Mountain Vertex 950 Review

Hale to the bigger 29er and the revival of the nearly extinct aluminum hardtail!

Rocky Mountain Vertex 950

Vertex 950 Bike

If by slim chance your out there looking for a boost in your Rocky Mountain performance for the upcoming/ or on going season we might already be in. Well then XC domination will be at the tips of your fingers with the 2013 Rocky Mountain ride they have dubbed the Vertex 29. Which is top-notch in the handling departments due to the insanely tight chain stays to get the rear wheel under you to carve singletrack with a shit-eaten grin like never before.

Rocky Mountain have also employed several key elements with advanced properties to attain both top-end acceleration on the descending sections and climbing as well. All of this magic comes from Rocky Mountain’s proprietary FORM shaped aluminum tubing with a tapered head tube and press-fit bottom bracket.

Those fast and fun Vertex attributes are also enhanced by the bigger 29er wheels, and the Rockshox 100 mm Reba fork will have you shredding all the rough sections of trail like never before. This Vertex complete bike is full on 29er that’s spec’d out with a full SRAM 2×10-speed drive-train, DT Swiss wheels, and Formula disc brakes, so that the Vertex will not only shift with no hassles, but goes hard, and will then slow hard like a true XC alloy rocket should. Plus, finishing the trim kit from Easton and Fizik are dialed right there as well.
