For the next season, the 120mm Trek full-suspension 29er mountain bikes received only a few new technology updates to their components. The Rumblefish Elite and Pro models will be available with the new Fox CTD suspension and an update with utilizing either SRAM’s Type 2 clutch derailleur or Shimano’s Shadow plus rear derailleur. An interesting item that seems surprising and to note, Trek plans on sticking with the Fox 32 fork instead of the stiffer next seasons Fox 34 model they now have available to them. Reports confirm that when the designers were questioned about that option, the Trek engineers replied by saying they have developed the Trek Rumblefish for a lightweight, and zippy 29er trail bike. The Wisconsin based engineers think that the Fox 34 suspension fork would completely create a different character for the great setup, which to them would mandate a new purpose specific platform. Is it possible that Trek has a longer travel 29er mountain bike in the pipe? The designers that were questioned only responded with a sly :).
